What Participants Are Sharing About Their Retreat Experience
"One of the best weeks of my life. I can’t recommend this retreat highly enough, from the pre-retreat preparation to the post-retreat integration and everything in between, the details and delivery were immaculate. The venue was beautiful and the ceremonies were treated with reverence and respect. Thank you Synthesis 🙏"
―Craig
Ranger, UK"I experienced a deep feeling of peace unlike anything I have ever experienced, both in the moments I was in the ceremony and that reverberated in me for months afterwards."
―Lisa
North Carolina Mom and three-time Synthesis Retreat Participant"I just wanted to commend and thank you all for an amazing retreat. The care and attention to each and every person and every detail was very thorough. This is probably the best facilitation and framework for this type of experience I've encountered."
―Brandon
Functional Medicine Practitioner, USA"The ceremony gave me a whole new perspective—on my life, my work, and the challenges I came in with. It was a before-and-after moment for me. I returned home more focused, open, and connected than I’ve felt in years. I’ll never forget this experience—or the incredible people who guided it."
―Axel
Designer, Norway"This was a transformative retreat. All components of the place, people, activities, and experiences made it a once-in-a-lifetime event. I was able to look at things from different angles, to slow down life and meet myself and others as new delicate details unfolded. The process enabled me to go deep, to face fear, and to feel I was held safely and then heal."
―Anonymous
"As a complete novice to entheogens/psychedelics, it was amazing to see how the retreat catered to those of all levels, helping a rookie like me feel very safe & secure while still keeping those with more experience really engaged! They do a great job of curating groups of awesome people. While our group was very diverse, there was no drama or issues."
―Daniel

Program Overview
A 7-Week Immersive Experience of Preparation, Ceremony, and Integration
Led by Professional Facilitators
Immersion combines psilocybin truffle ceremonies, breathwork, live music, somatic practices, group workshops, and one-on-one support.
PREPARE: Three group sessions in the weeks before your retreat
IMMERSE: A 3 or 5-day retreat experience in the Netherlands
INTEGRATE: Three group sessions in the weeks following your retreat
Pre-Retreat Preparation
Three online group sessions with professional facilitators help you clarify intentions, build foundational practices, and connect with your cohort before arriving in the Netherlands.
We explore intention-setting, active listening, and working with resistance—creating a container of trust and familiarity that supports your journey.
You'll receive your Immersion Program Manual to begin this process, arriving at the retreat with both clarity and community already in place.
Day 1: Arrival & Preparation
Arrive by 12:00 PM. Slow down, connect with yourself and the group, and share intentions for the journey ahead. Your first one-on-one session with a facilitator helps lay the foundation for the ceremony.
Day 2: First Ceremony
Begin with breathwork to prepare mind and body, then experience your first psilocybin truffle ceremony in a safe, supportive setting.
Day 3: Reflection & Integration
Dedicate the day to processing your experience through group sharing, embodied practices, and a second one-on-one session. Space for individual reflection as we prepare for the second ceremony.
Day 4: Second Ceremony
Following breathwork and preparation, enter your second psilocybin journey—another opportunity for deep exploration and insight.
Day 5: Closing & Transition
Group integration practices and a final one-on-one session help you reflect on emerging insights and prepare to return home with clarity and grounding.
Integration
Three online group sessions to help you anchor insights and navigate the return to daily life.
We explore somatic integration practices to help you embody what you've discovered, how to discern what and how much to share with others in your life, and how to sustain meaningful shifts over time.
You'll leave with practical tools, clarity about what's changed, and a community to support your continued journey—equipped to keep evolving while staying connected to your experience.
The Setting: New Eden
Located 90 minutes from Amsterdam, New Eden sits on 50 acres of quiet countryside. The secluded setting offers a peaceful atmosphere ideal for deep inner work—a tranquil space that supports presence, reflection, and connection to the natural world.
Is This the Right Time for a Psilocybin Retreat?
Take this 2-minute quiz to get a preliminary sense of your readiness for an intentional psilocybin journey.
Our Approach
Using our integrative approach to wellness, we combine research and evidence-based practices with ancient wisdom traditions, rituals, and spiritual practices to curate a carefully held container that supports meaningful, lasting change.
We focus attention on seven essential conditions that shape every psychedelic journey:
We prepare each participant with intention-setting and reflection to cultivate a grounded, open mindset before, during, and after the experience.
Our retreats take place in nature, where beauty and stillness support presence, connection, and integration.
Our facilitators bring deep experience, empathy, and skill to hold a safe and compassionate space.
We work with the highest quality, legally and ethically sourced psilocybin truffles, thoughtfully calibrated for each journey.
Each session combines evidence-based practices with traditional wisdom, from live music and meditation to somatic awareness.
Change deepens through shared human experience, fostering authentic and lasting connection to self and others.
Integration bridges ceremony insights into daily life, supporting sustainable growth and continued alignment.
When these elements are not carefully considered, and psychedelics are not used in a safe, supported, and structured setting, many of their potential benefits may not be experienced.

Frequently Asked Questions
What if I’m unsure whether this retreat is right for me?
If you're still exploring whether this experience is a good fit for where you are right now, we invite you to take our short readiness quiz:
It’s a reflective 2-minute self-assessment designed to help you gain clarity and understand the next best step.
Why is health screening required?
At Synthesis, your safety is our highest priority. While a psilocybin retreat can be deeply beneficial for many, it is not appropriate for everyone. Certain medical and psychological conditions may present contraindications that make participation inadvisable.
Our health screening process exists to ensure that each participant can engage with this experience safely and with appropriate support. A dedicated clinical team reviews every application using evidence-based guidelines to assess readiness and suitability.
Are there specific conditions or health contraindications that would make me ineligible for the program?
The following are considered contraindications that would deem someone ineligible to participate in the program. These include, but are not limited to:
- Suicidal ideation or a history of attempted suicide
- Schizophrenia
- Psychosis (including manic episodes)
- Personality disorders, including borderline personality disorder
- A history of psychiatric hospitalization
- Any dissociative disorder, including dissociative identity disorder
- Self-harm or self-destructive behavior, including but not limited to cutting, burning, or similar self-inflicted wounding, excessive substance use, or regular high-risk behavior
What kind of support is available during the retreat?
Our facilitation team includes Lead Facilitators and Facilitators, all well-trained, experienced, and supervised to support you at every stage of your journey. With one facilitator for every three to four participants, you can expect attentive, personalized care throughout your retreat.
What type of mushrooms do you use in your retreats?
At Synthesis, we use a tea made from psilocybin-containing truffles. Truffles are an earlier stage of mushroom development that contain psilocybin and produce psychedelic effects when ingested. Unlike dried psilocybin mushrooms, truffles are legal in the Netherlands, where our retreats are held.
How do you decide what dosage a participant receives?
Dosage is determined through a collaborative, consent-based process. You will discuss and agree on your dosage during a one-on-one session with your facilitator on-site at the retreat.
Generally, the first ceremony uses 15g of psilocybin-containing truffles. For the second ceremony, dosage can be adjusted up to a maximum of 30g, based on your experience and in consultation with your facilitator.
Where do the retreats take place?
Our retreats take place at New Eden in the Netherlands, approximately 90 minutes from Amsterdam.
What are the accommodations like?
New Eden offers simple, clean accommodations across several buildings on the grounds, with a mix of single and double rooms, all with private toilets.
Room assignments are made at the discretion of our retreat team. We do our best to accommodate couples and family members in double-occupancy rooms whenever possible.
Single participants are assigned rooms with single beds, separated by gender. If you're attending alone, you'll share with a participant of the same gender.
Does the venue accommodate special food preferences or dietary restrictions?
All meals at New Eden are vegetarian, organic, seasonal, and locally sourced. Coffee, herbal teas, fresh fruit, and nut snacks are available between meals.
Our kitchen team is happy to accommodate individual dietary requirements and lifestyle preferences. We will collect this information from all participants ahead of your retreat.
Is transportation available to the venues?
Participants are responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from the venue.
Synthesis will provide an optional group shuttle service that can be added to your reservation. More details provided at checkout.
